"He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. After completing the parable the Lord declared in Matthew 13:9 "Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." The disciples asked why he spoke to the people in parables. He had just given what's called the parable of the sower / sower and the soils. The spiritual reason for their rejection was explained by the Lord as he expounded on the prophecy of Isaiah 6:9-10. He definitely wasn’t a member of the religious “in crowd” and deemed “no good” by association. Jesus came from the wrong side of town, associated with undesirables, was accused of being the product of fornication, blasphemous and having a devil.
I understand the rabbinic fraternity held contempt for all things “Galilean”. However, Dan was dispersed among the whole people rather than isolated to the lands of Dan, as the Tribe of Dan was the hereditary local law enforcement and judiciary for the whole nation. The Judeans blamed them for neglecting study of their language and further accused them of very poor grammar and terrible mispronunciation that sometimes led to nonsensical mistakes. According to the Bible, Galilee was named by the Israelites and was the tribal region of Naphthali and Dan, at times overlapping the Tribe of Ashers land.
